India vs England match preview:

Revenge will be in mind when India will take on England in the first ODI of five Match series here at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal in Hyderabad on Friday.

Skipper MS Dhoni-led Young Team India is looking to take revenge of humiliating defeat in England recently.

England, who crowned the No.1 Test team after defeating India 4-0 and pushed India to No.5 in ODI rankings after 5-0 whitewash in ODI series, knows that beating Indians in their home soil will be a daunting task.

However, absence of several senior players will be a major relief for visitors. But despite of several favourable reasons for Alistair Cook and his team, it will be crucial for English players to adopt Indian conditions quickly to beat World Champions in India.

The confidence level of English side is high as they won their both warm up game against Hyderabad XI.

On the other hand, young guns of Team India, like Suresh Raina, R Ashwin, Ravi Teja, Ajinkya Rahane, Parthiv Patel and Ravindra Jadeja, are looking confident for returning on winning track.

India last enjoyed victory in West Indies tour and since than Dhoni & Co. are awaiting victory. The home series against England will be a better opportunity for India to return on winning track and climb up in ICC ODI rankings ladder. India is placed at 5th spot just behind England in the rankings. A series win here will help India to move up further in the rankings.

However, injury has played crucial role in India’s poor performance recently but at the same time it has provided opportunity to use the bench strength.

Gautam Gambhir to make come back

Indian opener Gautam Gambhir, who injured in England, will make a come back to international arena in the 1st ODI against England. His presence will definitely boost the batting strength but it is expected that he will not open for India.
