You might have heard the news about Google taking strict action against Adsense accountusers recently. The users were marked by Google to be pushing the limits on the ‘Terms of Service’ (TOS).
So what are the ‘Terms of Services’ that every Adsense publisher must be totally aware of? Looking at it from a neutral standpoint, the TOS are not very difficult to understand and it’s the responsibility of the publishers to be aware of them.
So here’s a short list of the many ways you can get your Google Adsense account banned…
- Clicking on your ads yourself
Yes, there might be multiple clicks from a genuine user, but 30 clicks in 5 minutes? That’s just pushing your luck. Google can easily detect illegal clicks and have your account banned in no time.
- Asking others to click on your ads
Yet another stupid idea. Dodging Google is NOT easy. You might get away with it if you’re lucky, but who’s to say your friends or family are smart enough not to click on an ad 10 times in a minute. Not a risk worth taking in my opinion.
- Registering multiple accounts
It is possible to have multiple accounts, but that depends on if you have different websites/blogs to cater to. Normally, Google does not allow multiple registrations for the same blog.
- Inserting excessive Keywords
It might get you the traffic for some time but Google will eventually find out your trick. And once that happens, you can say ‘Bye Bye’ to your account.
- Putting Adsense ads on blank pages
Google does not allow ads on empty pages or pages with no real content. The user might be tricked into thinking that the ads are the content.
- Ads on Websites having Adult Content
Ads are not allowed to be displayed on sites having adult content, drugs, guns, ammos and other illegal activities.
- Integrating Adsense ads in Emails/RSS feeds/Newsletters
Adsense ads are not allowed to be used by Google in any sort of Emails, RSS feeds, or Newsletters. This facility is only available for Adsense premium publishers.
- Using Custom-Build Websites specially made for Adsense
Google has in the recent months started strict screening of websites and blogs that are specially designed to display Adsense ads.
- Putting Adsense ads in Popup windows
Some people put the Adsense code in to the popup windows to get more exposure and clicks. This technique is not allowed at all by Google.
- Fooling the visitors to click on ads
Placing the Ads where clicking becomes mandatory, or inviting the visitors to click by using attractive claims is definitely not allowed.
Conclusion
The above mentioned points are some of the activities that are violated the most by Adsense users. A sensible publisher should stay away from those if he values his Adsense account. As long as you keep to the rules set by Google, you will be fine. Happy Earning!
