Story:
Chandu (Siddharth) and Siri (Shruti) are friends from childhood. Both their families are also very well acquainted to each other. Siri is a classical dance teacher and Chandu is an aspiring musician. Uday (Navdeep) enters into Siri's life as fiancee and Ritu (Hansika) becomes the love interest of Chandu. The friendship bond between Chandu and Siri isn't understood properly by Uday, Ritu leading to break ups and then patch ups. In between is the thread of Chandu and his father (Tanikella Bharani).
Presentation:
Story is very simple about friendship between two different genders. Screenplay of Venu Sri Ram is appealing with new kind of narrative. Rich production values and glossy finishing made the film more attractive. Siddharth's performance is superb while Shruti has developed a lot. Navdeep was confident and Hansika looked hefty with cute look. Music by Rahul Raj was outstanding. Background score by Mani Sharma kept the feel of film in an air tight container. Dil Raju needs special appraises for spending lavishly on this type of subject. What missed in Oh My Friend is shortage of comedy and a universal appeal. Yet definitely this is again a quality film from Dil Raju as expected earlier. Youth would easily lap up this movie because of feel good factor.
Conclusion:
Venu Sri Ram's unidirectional narration without running any sub plots has little toned down the result. Film being targeted at youth and family audience, easily a market share can be captured by Dil Raju. Audience relating to friendship storyline can always be looked upon from positive side. This team has done a good work in pulling fine performances from cast and crew. Handling on human emotions is the core area of Dil Raju and Oh My Friend succeeds to the maximum in this. Siddharth waiting from a long time to bag a success after Bommarillu has a good deal on hand. This film may not reach the standards of Bommarillu or Happy Days but is good with its own advantages.
